At the time, we were trying to navigate doing a wedding at a place we had never been. I had seen pictures of Acadia National Park and knew that was the place to do it.. but never stepping a foot in Maine made it seem like a crazy task. Lets pile the legal stuff on top of it as same-sex marriage was legal there, but not our home state of Texas at the time as well.
Well Katherine was a huge help. She helped us customize everything to make this small ceremony feel like a very easy and natural process for us. She recommended great places to have a celebratory dinner afterwards as well as recommended places for us to go while we were going to be in Maine for the first time. She helps us find someone to officiate for us and direct us around the legal paperwork for the state.
